How to install Moodle #
For installation of moodle, there are 2 methods to install, you can install moodle using any of these methods
- install moodle using softaculous app installer
- install moodle manually
install moodle using softaculous app installer #
For installation of moodle using softaculous, you have to follow some steps the steps are as follows
Step1: login to your hostrik hostings Cpanel account and in the software section click on softaculous app installer. Softacluous app installer window will open.
Step2: search moodle in the search box of the softaculous app installer. And press enter, installation window of moodle will open.
Step3: in the software section of the moodle select the version you want to install, then select the protocol for the moodle and also select the moodle domain. Then select the moodle directory to store all the data of the moodle. Then select the Cron job for the moodle (leave as it is if you are unaware of it).
Step4: in the site setting select the name of the site and also give the site description.
Step5: in the admin, account setup give a username and password for the admin account then give the first name and last name to the admin and also give the email for the admin account.
Step6: after the admin, the section chooses the language for the moodle, and also in the advance section give the name to the database and also select the backup for it. And click install.
install moodle manually #
For manual installation, you have to follow some steps the steps are divided into 3 parts
- File configuration
- Database creation
- Moodle setup
File configuration
Step1: Go to the official website of moodle and download the latest version of moodle in zip format.
Step2: extract that file and login to the Cpanel account, and in the File manager uploads the extracted file in the public_html folder.
Database creation
Step1: go to the database section in your Cpanel account, and click on MySQL Database and create the database
Step2: in create database section give the name to the database and click on create database.
Step3: After creating the database you have to add a user to the database in add user section give the name and password of the user and click on create user.
Step4: then give all privileges to the user by clicking all privileges.
Moodle setup
Step1: go to the URL your a going to install Moodle, choose the language you want to install moodle in.
Step2: In the next step choose the path to install moodle, then click on continue.
Step3: in this step, you have to configure the database with the moodle, give the username and password of the database and click continue.
Step4: accept the copyright policy to install moodle.
Step5: here moodle checks all system requirements when all requirements are ok the click on continue.
Step6: here it will create the different tables in the database, after completion click on continue.
Step7: give the information about your moodle, give email, admin username password, and also give additional information and click continue.
Step8: In the next step give the full name and short name of the website, also give the description, and click on install.
