This is the guide to install the software. it is developed by many of the volunteers. It is free to use under the GNU General Public License.

Webservers
- the software works on different webserver but the 2 main webservers are apache and IIS
- it also works on (LiteSpeed, Nginx, Lighttpd, and Caddy.)
PHP
- Mediawiki works on the latest version of PHP (7.4.3)
- The minimum requirement of PHP is (7.3.19)
Database
The software works on the following database
- MySQL 5.5.8+
- MariaDB 5.1+
- PostgreSQL 9.2
- SQLite 3
Installation of Mediawiki #
For the installation of Media-Wiki, you have 2 methods to install.
- Installation using softaculous app installer
- Manual installation
Installation using softaculous app installer #
For installation of the software using a softaculous app installer, you have to follow the following steps.
Step1: login to the hostrik Cpanel account, and in the software section click on softaculous app installer.
Step2: in the softaculous window search the MediaWiki in the search box, the installation window will open, click on install.
Step3: In the next window select the version of the software you want to install and then select the protocol (HTTP:// or HTTPS://) and select the domain and directory of the installation.
Step4: In the next step give the name to the site and also give the email for the site.
Step5: in this step create the admin account of the site by giving a username and password.
Step6: choose the language of your wiki and also enables upload and editors by checking the box
Step7: In the advanced section select the database for the site and also select the backup and then click on install
