SSL/TLS #
The SSL/TLS Manager will allow you to generate SSL certificates, certificate signing requests, and private keys. These are all parts of using SSL to secure your website. SSL/TLS allows you to secure pages on your site so that information such as logins, credit card numbers, etc is sent encrypted instead of plain text. It is important to secure your site’s login areas, shopping areas, and other pages where sensitive information could be sent over the web.
SSL/TLS interface contains the following features #
- Default SSL/TLS key type The default key type for SSL/TLS certificates and CSRs.
- The private key (key) generate, view, upload or delete private key
- Certificate signing request (CSR) generate, view or delete SSL/TLS certificate signing request
- Certificates (CRT) generate, view, upload, or delete SSL Certificates.
- Install and manage SSL for your site (HTTPS) manage SSL sites.
Default SSL/TLS key type #
this feature to select a default SSL/TLS key type for your server. The system by default uses this feature for SSL/TLS. The system also uses this key to generate root SSL/TLS keys. By default, the system uses the RSA 2,048 bit key type. After you create the key click save to save the key.
The private key (key) #
When you add an SSL/TLS certificate to your site, you must add a private key. To access this interface you have to click on generate, view, upload, or delete private key. This interface allows you to do the following actions.
- Generate a New Private Key
- Upload a New Private Key
- Edit a current private key.
- Remove a current private key
Keys on Server
Keys on the server contain the following information
- Description- the private key description
- ID- ID of the key
- Key type- the type of the private key
- Action-

- Edit- edit the private key

- Delete- delete the private key
Generate a New Private Key
To generate the new key you have to perform the following steps.
Step1: login to Cpanel, go to the security section, click on SSL/TLS, the new interface will open then click on generate, view, upload, or delete private key.
Step2: select the key type from the drop-down menu.
Step3: in the description box type a brief description of the key. And click on generate. A new interface will appear that displays the requested key in an encoded and decoded format.
Step4: Copy the desired key.
Step5: Click Return to Private Keys. The new key displays in the Keys on the Server table.
Step6: Upload the new key to the server. To do this, use either paste the private key or browse for private key methods.
Upload a New Private Key
To upload the key perform the following steps
Paste the private key
Step1: login to Cpanel, go to the security section, click on SSL/TLS, the new interface will open then click on generate, view, upload, or delete private key.
Step2: paste the key into the text box, and write a brief description about the key in the description box and click on save to upload the key.
Browse for the private key
Step1: login to Cpanel, go to the security section, click on SSL/TLS, the new interface will open then click on generate, view, upload, or delete private key.
Step2: browse the key from your computer with extension .key and upload, click Upload to upload the key.
Delete the private key
To delete the private key perform the following steps
Step1: login to Cpanel, go to the security section, click on SSL/TLS, the new interface will open then click on generate, view, upload, or delete private key.
Step2: go to keys on server section, and inaction column
Step3: click the delete button which is in front of the domain you want to delete the key. the new interface will open
Step4: click the delete key.
Edit a current private key
To edit the private key perform the following steps
Step1: login to Cpanel, go to the security section, click on SSL/TLS, the new interface will open then click on generate, view, upload, or delete private key.
Step2: go to keys on the server section in the Action column click edit.
Step3: edit description box
Step4: click update.
Certificate signing request (CSR) #
This interface allows you to generate, view, or delete a certificate signing request (CSR). You can also view and edit current descriptions and encoded private keys and decoded private keys.
Certificate Signing Requests on Server
Certificate signing request on server table contains the following data
- Domains: the CSR domain
- Created: The time that you created the CSR, in Universal Time, Coordinated (UTC)
- Description: the CSR description
- Action:

- Edit- edit the CSR

- Delete- delete he CSR
Generate new CSR
To generate the CSR perform the following steps
Step1: Generate a New CSR heading, select the key from the Key menu.
Step2: When you select a key, the Edit option appears. Click Edit to view and edit the information for your private key.
Step3: If the desired key does not appear in the menu, select the type of key you wish to generate from the Key menu. You can also add a new private key to the Private Key section of the interface.
step4:Enter the required information in the text boxes below the Key menu.
Step5; Click Generate.
Delete CSR
Te delete the CSR perform the following steps
Step1: click the delete button from the action column.
Step2: click delete CSR to confirm, you will see the success or failure message.
Edit and view details about a CSR
To edit a description or view a CSR, perform the following steps:
Step1: Locate the CSR that you wish to edit in the Certificate Signing Requests on the Server table.
Step2: Click Edit in the Actions column. A new interface will appear that displays the description, the encoded CSR, and the decoded CSR.
Step3: Enter any desired changes in the Description text box.
Step4: Click Update Name.
Certificates (CRT) #
You can use a self-signed certificate or a trusted certificate from an SSL/TLS Certificate Authority. If you plan to use a self-signed certificate for one of your sites, you can generate it below.
Certificates on server
The certificates on the server contain the domain, Issuer, Expiration Key Type, Description, Actions
- Domain: The private key’s description.
- Issuer: The Certificate Authority (CA) that issues the certificate.
- Expiration: The time that the certificate expires, in Universal Time, Coordinated (UTC)
- Key Type: The type of private key.
- Description: The certificate’s description.
- Action:

- Edit- Edit the SSL certificate.

- Delete- Delete the SSL certificate.

- Install- Install the SSL certificate.
Upload a New Certificate
To upload the certificate perform the following steps
Step1: Under upload, the certificate types the certificate key in the text box.
Step2: Under the description, the box writes a brief description of the certificate.
Step3: click save, a success or failure message appear.
Browse certificate
Step1: browse the file into the computer with extension .crt, upload that file
Step2: write a brief description of the certificate.
Step3: click upload, a success or failure message will appear.
Generate new certificate
Step1: Generate a New certificate heading, select the key from the Key menu.
Step2: When you select a key, the Edit option appears. Click Edit to view and edit the information for your private key.
Step3: If the desired key does not appear in the menu, select the type of key you wish to generate from the Key menu. You can also add a new private key to the Private Key section of the interface.
step4:Enter the required information in the text boxes below the Key menu.
Step5; Click Generate.
Delete certificate
To delete the certificate perform the following steps
Step1: Select the certificate that you wish to delete in the Certificates on the Server table.
Step2: Click Delete for that certificate. A new interface will appear.
Step3: Click Delete Certificates. A success or error message will appear.
Edit and view details about a certificate
edit a description or view a certificate, perform the following steps
Step1: Select the certificate that you wish to edit in the Certificates.
Step2: click on edit, the new interface will open, in the description box enter the changes.
Step3: click update description.
Install and manage SSL for your site (HTTPS) #
system administrators can create and install SSL certificates for their users’ cPanel accounts. cPanel users can manage the certificates that correspond to their domains.
the interface allows you to perform the following actions
- Change the primary domain on a shared IP address.
- Update a certificate.
- Uninstall a certificate.
- View a certificate’s details.
- Use a certificate for another site.
Manage Installed SSL Websites
The manage installed SSL Website table contains the following points
- FQDN: The website’s domain name.
- Certificate Expiration: The date when the certificate expires.
- Document Root: The location of the domain’s website files.
- Action:

- Uninstall- Uninstall the SSL certificate.

- Update Certificate- Update the SSL certificate.

- Certificate Details- View additional information about the certificate.

- Use Certificate for New Site- Use the certificate for another website, addon domain, or subdomain.
Install an SSL Website
To install the certificate on the website there are three method
- Browse certificate:
- Search Domain:
- Manually enter information
1.Browse certificate:
To use Browse Certificates to install a certificate, perform the following steps:
Step1: Click Browse Certificates. Click the button that corresponds to the desired certificate. Only certificates that correspond to a domain appear in the list.
Step2: Click Use Certificate to return to the Install an SSL Host section. The certificate’s information will appear in the text boxes.
Step3: enter the appropriate information.
Step4: Click Install Certificate. A success or failure message will appear.
2.Search Domain:
To search by domain to install a certificate, perform the following steps:
Step1: Select the desired domain in the Domain menu.
Step2: Click Autofill by Domain. The interface will attempt to retrieve and enter the certificate information.
- If this step succeeds, the available text boxes will contain the appropriate information.
- If this step does not succeed, the text boxes will remain empty.
Step3: Click Install Certificate. A success or failure message will appear.
3.Manually enter information
To manually enter the information to install a certificate, perform the following steps:
Step1: Select the desired domain in the Domain menu.
Step2: Enter the certificate information in the Certificate text box. Enter the private key information in the Private Key text box.
Step3: enter the certificate authority information in the Certificate Authority Bundle text box.
Step4: Click Install Certificate. A success or failure message will appear.
