SSH Access #
SSH Access gives you information about how you can connect to another web server with SSH. This interface allows you to access your server via the internet using the command-line interface. You can use this network protocol to remotely manage your server, configure CGI Scripts and perform other tasks.
Many modern operating systems, such as macOS® and Linux® distributions, include SSH. but if you are using the windows® operating system to connect your server you should use an SSH client Such as PuTTY, to login into your account.
Connect to your server via SSH #
To use PuTTY to connect to your server via SSH, follow the steps
Step1: Download and install the PuTTY client.
Step2: From Windows Start menu Open client.
Step3: In the Session interface, enter the hostname or IP address of the server in the Host Name
Step4: enter the port number in the port Text box.
Step5: Select the SSH protocol.
Step6: Click Open.
Step7: Enter your cPanel account’s username.
Step8: Enter your cPanel account’s password.
Manage SSH Keys #
The manage SSH Keys interface allows you to create, import, manage and remove the keys. the system will use that keys to confirm the user which accessing the account. The manage SSH Access Keys interface has Two options in it.
- Generate new Keys
- Import Key

Generate new Keys #
You can use this option to create a new SSH key which includes a public key or private key. To create a new key perform the following steps.
Step1: login to Cpanel, go to the security section, click on SSH Access, the new interface will open
Step2: click on generate new keys, the new interface will open.
Step3: enter the key name in the key name
Step4: enter the password and then confirm the password.
Step5: select the key type
DSA: provide quicker key generation and signing times.
RSA: keys provide quicker verification times.
Step6: select the key size.
Step7: click generate the key. The interface will display the saved location of the key.

Import key #
To import existing key perform the following steps
Step1: login to Cpanel, go to the security section, click on SSH Access, the new interface will open
Step2: click on import keys, the new interface will open.
Step3: To use a custom key name, enter the key name in the Choose a name for this key
Step4: paste the appropriate public and private keys into the text box.
Step5: click import.
Manage keys #
The manage SSH access keys interface displays the public keys and private keys list. the public key and private key table contain the following information
Name: name column contain the name of the key
Authorization Status: Whether you authorized the key.this column only present in public keys
Actions: the action column contains the following elements
Delete: Click to delete the key, and then click Yes to confirm that you wish to delete the key.
View/download: Click to view or download the key. To download the key
Mange: Click to manage authorization for the key. A new interface will appear. Click Authorize to authorize the key or Deauthorize to revoke authorization for the key
